No matter how impressive your website is and no matter how great your product may be, without website traffic you won’t make any sales.

People who just happen to land on your website are not going to be very numerous. If you truly want to make a living as an internet marketer, you need to take the time to entice people to visit your site. If you use the right methods, however, increasing website traffic can be fairly simple. Building traffic should not really take up more than an hour of your time every day, two at most. You don’t have to rely on a single method to get more traffic, as there are many.

You don’t want to manually submit your site to the major search engines, but it’s fine to manually submit to secondary search engines which will help you in certain ways. Manually submitting with Google’s submit form is not needed at all, and you can do it faster using social media techniques. It will take several hours to manually submit to the smaller engines – and it’s not 100% necessary, either. You can definitely receive traffic from them and rank easier, the major engines will also view that as your site being more popular. There are tons of ways to get backlinks, and some are certainly more valuable than others. But the name of the game is “natural,” or appearing to be natural to Google, so having a variety of backlink sources will only help you in the eyes of the major search engines.

Find people who create content related to your niche and request that the contribute articles to your website. If you offer them a link back to their site, they will probably be glad to let you use some of their content, such as an article of three hundred or so words. This is good for two reasons. Your page rank can go up by having more outbound links. In addition to the outbound link, you’ll be getting an inbound link too. If you publish something written by someone else, there’s a good chance they will note this on their own site, creating a link to your site. You build both your inbound and outbound links this way and the contributor’s audience will come over to your site to check you out! Register with several social media networks and fill out the profiles, including your website url. You can’t afford to ignore social networking giants like MySpace, Facebook and others! These tools might not seem like great internet marketing hubs at first glance but, if you play your cards right, you can create tons of traffic to your website as well as generate lots of new sales! You can get some hints on how to use these sites by looking at some of the profiles created by other marketers in your niche. If you learn how to network on these sites, you can not only make sales but find buyers who become regular customers of yours!
